This is a commission I completed for *ShadowTsuki, of their character "Kikyo"

I really enjoyed drawing this one, I think it's maybe the first time I've drawn such an outfit.... I saw it amongst the many outfit choices/references provided, and just knew I had to draw it! XD I love super-poofy gowns, and there was just so much going on with this one, it was really a very enjoyable commission to do.

The style really really reminds me of the anime "Trinity Blood" and all their amazing outfits, which is a style I've always really loved.... it's got a lot of cathedral-esque nuances to it. The character Kikyo is a healer of sorts, which is really symbolized by all the medic-styled crosses, and I think goes quite well with the cathedral style of the dress.

I'm totally addicted to small details, and being able to design the little trinkets in her hair was really fun, as well as her unique hairstyle - it was another huge reason why I enjoyed this commission. The topknot style really went well with the elegant style of dress, as well as her portrayed attitude... kinda 'holier than thou' I guess. lol, The personality of the character is not one you'd traditionally find with being a healer either... lol, which made it interesting. I had a lot of fun drawing a woman with such attitude!
